Ezemvelo suspends KwaCheetah operations
Updated | By Nondumiso Zakwe
The decision follows investigations into recent incidents where cheetahs attacked visitors at the facility within the Nambiti private game reserve.
Ezemvelo says it started investigating the circumstances surrounding the attacks last week.
Three incidents have been reported with the first being in June and two others earlier this month.
Ezemvelo's Musa Mntambo says KwaCheetah had been conducting some activities not in line with their management plan.
''What we're doing at the moment with them is we are looking at their application for a permit as well as their management plan. We will then tell them exactly what they need to do in order for us to grant them the permit.
''Once they have met our requirements they will then be allowed to continue with their commercial exhibition. However if somehow they fail to meet the requirements then they won't be granted permission to continue with commercial exhibition,'' he said.
Mntambo says the animal involved in the incidents will not be put down.
