eThekwini still KZN's COVID-19 epicentre

According to the KwaZulu-Natal Health Department's recent official COVID-19 figures, the eThekwini District holds on as the province's coronavirus epicentre, with 10 513 confirmed cases.
The department revealed this on Friday.
KwaZulu-Natal recorded 1 667 new cases, bringing the cumulative number of infections in the province to 19 630.

The KZN Health Department says the official COVID-19-related death toll in the province is 260, with the uMzinyathi District recording its first death in the past 24 hours.
It says 5 953 people have recovered, while there are 13 417 active cases.

The Umgungundlovu District has the second-highest number of confirmed cases with 2 847, followed by the Ilemebe District which has 1 225 cases.
The Umkhanyahkhude District has the lowest number of confirmed cases with 166 cases. Its recorded 87 recoveries and six coronavirus-related deaths.
