eThekwini says working to dismantle fuel theft syndicate
Updated | By AFP
eThekwini metro police say the recent arrest of a truck driver, who had allegedly been stealing diesel from the municipality, is just the tip of the iceberg.

Cops nabbed the 38-year-old man in the Kwamakhutha area this week.
It's believed that the driver, who works for eThekwini municipality's water department, had been stealing diesel for five years.
Metro police's Sbonelo Mchunu says there is a syndicate operating in the city, which involves its municipal workers.
“We’ve been involved in arresting several employees for stealing diesel and petrol. Now, when we analyse all the cases we come to the conclusion that there is a syndicate that is colluding.”
