eThekwini to review internal audit functions
Updated | By Puseletso Petersen
eThekweni says it will review its internal audit functions following damning revelations from within the Auditor General's latest audit report.
The report, which was released yesterday, found that the municipality had handed out tenders to 377 suppliers, who had submitted fraudulent documentation during the 2015-2016 financial year.
The Western Cape achieved 80% clean audits, whilst the next best was #KZN with a mere 18% in clean audits of #RSA municipalities

eThekwini spokesperson, Tozi Mthethwa says that City Manager, Sipho Nzuza has launched an investigation into the findings.
"We will work very closely with all relevant departments with the internal audit function, to make sure that transgressions are picked up early, and there is a plan in place to make sure that there are corrective measures. The internal controls for us is an ongoing process to make sure that there is full compliance with our supply chain processes," she said.
