The municipality's Communications Head Lindiwe Khuzwayo says they want to develop the port for major water sporting events and provide development opportunities between the yacht basin and the city.
"Still in its inception phase, the development is expected to include four and five-star hotels, a museum, an exhibition centre, science centre, retail a mall, apartments, and an African cultural centre.
"The Durban Bay Waterfront and Marina is expected to showcase the unique African continent with its culture and heritage being celebrated through art, music and architecture."
