eThekwini pumps R250m into water and sanitation

eThekwini says over a quarter of a billion rand's been pumped into a project to improve water supply and sanitation in Durban's Point Precinct and across Anton Lembede Street.
"This project also includes the upgrading of Mahatma Gandhi road. We are pleased to report that is work is nearing completion and we will be taking you on tour to observe the transformation that has taken place in this precinct,” eThekwini Mayor Mxolisi said on Thursday.
Kaunda made the announcement yesterday during the launch of the Shongweni Urban Development project, which among other things, will boast a new hospital and residential flats in the city's outer west area.

Kaunda has urged investors to help improve the CBD's trading spaces.
"You will see us dealing with issues of law enforcement, ensuring that people who are trading - they trade in designated spaces which they are supposed to trade.
"People are making means to live and survive through what they are going in the CBD hence we are going to be allocating them other spaces to go and trade."
