eThekwini Municipality starts a COVID-19 relief fund

The eThekwini Municipality is appealing to members of the public and business community to assist needy families during the coronavirus lockdown.

The municipality's spokesperson, Msawakhe Mayisela says they can contribute to a fund - set up to help those who have been left without an income.
Mayisela says the City has already contributed.

He says the donations will help alleviate the negative impact the lockdown's had on the city.
"All South Africans who may be in eThekwini or anywhere are encouraged to lend a hand in contributing to the fund that we have set up sp that we strengthen the fight again the spread of the coronavirus and the aftershocks."
"It's an abnormal situation that requires everyone to lend a hand in order for us to be able to triumph over this surge," he said.
