eThekwini Municipality in good financial health - Kaunda
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The financial health of eThekwini Municipality is said to be in a good state after achieving an overall collection rate of 95% for rates and services in the 2020/2021 financial year.

This is despite the impact of the struggling economy, Covid-19 pandemic and the July civil unrest last year.
Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda says the several debt collection strategies have also paid off, allowing consumers the space and time to make arrangements to pay off their debt in instalments.
In a statement, Kaunda has thanked consumers for prioritising their municipal bills.
He says the timeous payments have made it possible to the rollout of services to the poor.
