eThekwini Municipality is calling on residents to save water
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
While many people are focusing on spending at this time, the eThekwini Municipality is asking some Durban residents to please save water.

"The Albert Falls dam is sitting at under 20%, it is critically low. We would like everyone in that area, supplied by Albert Falls dam to really take extra care when using water," says the municipality's Tozi Mthethwa.
She says it appears that the influx of visitors to the city has led to a strain on water supply for areas including uMhlanga, KwaMashu, Westville, Reservoir Hills and Pinetown.
Mthethwa says reservoirs in Durban's outer lying areas are being shut at night, to help build a healthy supply for the following day.
"We do have acceptable levels of water supply in the other dams, meaning not all areas will be affected but if you are residing in one of the areas in the north or western parts of the city, you might be affected," she says.
