eThekwini municipality to build on impressive financial year
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
eThekwini Municipality says it wants to build on the momentum reflected in its 2017/18 financial period.
It claims to have provided electricity to 103 358 indigent homes, delivered 4 364 new houses and ensured potable water is delivered to 99.38% of households - including households in informal areas - despite the drought that had gripped the country.
The municipality's Mswakhe Mayisela says the focus going forward will be on clean audits and an approach that's inclusive of the business community.
"We are extremely happy that we are fairing well when it comes to the issue of housing. We also take seriously the outcomes of the Auditor General", he said.
"We are working hard to ensure that in the next financial year we get a clean audit and we will also work closely with the business community because they are an important stakeholder", Mayisela said.
