KwaZulu-Natal Hawks officials have confirmed that a high profile eThekwini Municipal official is among three people who handed themselves over to authorities this morning, and are now in court.
The trio faces fraud and corruption charges linked to the case of nine others.
Among those suspects are the city's Deputy Head of Strategy and eThekwini's Supply Chain Manager.
They allegedly profited from multi-million-rand DSW tender.
"It relates to ongoing investigations that saw the arrest of about nine suspects two weeks ago - at the municipality. We arrested two officials and seven service providers. It relates to tender fraud of about R208-million," Hawks spokesperson, Hangwani Mulaudzi explains.
