eThekwini motorists urged to exercise caution during wet weather

Emergency services in eThekwini are urging motorists to be extra careful on the roads because of heavy rains.
In a separate incident also the M1, this morning, near Crossmore in the Shallcross area, three people have been hurt when two cars collided with each other.
A female in her 20s had to be extricated from one of the vehicles. Details surrounding both accidents are still unclear, but all those hurt were taken to hospital.
ER24's Chitra Bodasing has urged drivers to exercise caution.
"ER24 urges people to be careful, especially while driving in wet weather. Keep a safe following distance, stay away from flooded areas and do not drink and drive," she said.
"Also ensure that the vehicles you are driving are roadworthy," Bodasing said.
Police are expected to investigate both accidents.
