eThekwini Metro in 'advanced stage' to ensure safety

The eThekwini Metro Police Department says interventions in the face of the ongoing looting includes various intelligence and security agencies.
Deputy commissioner Sibonelo Mchunu addressed journalists on Tuesday at one of their depots in the Durban CBD, where items confiscated during looting were being processed.
He said members of the public must not think they can get away with this kind of lawlessness.

He says they’ve sharpened their law enforcement approach.
"We are working with crime intelligence and we are gathering information as you might have seen in the national briefing this morning, the minister of police together with the state security minister there is a lot of work that has been done which in the right forum we get given those tips, intelligence products in which we work with.
"So I can tell you that law enforcement agencies are in the advanced stage of making sure that the communities are safe."
