eThekwini Mayor, Mxolisi Kaunda has called for a speedy investigation into the murders of seven men at a homestead of KwaMakhutha, south of Durban.
The bodies were found in the abandoned house just last night after the community heard a number of gunshots.
When they went to investigate they found that the men had been shot execution-style in the home.
Earlier, police said drugs were found under the bodies.
Mayoral spokesperson, Mluleki Mntungwa says the mayor has condemned the murders and has called for calm in the area.

He's pleaded with anyone with information on the killings to come forward.
"He has urged the police to get to the bottom of this and ensure that perpetrators of the crime are brought to book," he said.
"The mayor expressed shock that during this time of COVID-19, there are people who are preoccupied with committing such heinous crimes."
