eThekwini halts weekend bus services due to COVID-19
Updated | By Newswatch
The municipal bus service in eThekweni won't be running this weekend.

eThekwini Municipality says it needs to do a mass deep cleaning and disinfection of the vehicles and depots - for the safety of commuters and employees.
Spokesperson, Msawakhe Mayisela says the service will resume on Monday.
"In its quest to aggressively prevent the spread of the coronavirus to its commuters and employees, the City, after consultation with the bus operator Transnat, has resolved to temporarily suspend all Durban Transport bus services.

"eThekwini apologises to the public for the inconvenience this much needed saftey exercise is going to cause.
"The municipality humbly requests that customers make alternative transport arrangements as a result," says Mayisela.
The eThekwini District - which is the coronavirus epicentre in KZN - has over 36 000 cases.
