eThekwini employee nabbed for stealing CCTV cameras
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The eThekwini Municipality has vowed to clamp down on dodgy employees involved in criminality.

The remarks come after a worker was arrested in a sting operation on Tuesday.
It involved the Disaster Management Unit, Metro Police, and the City Integrity and Investigation Unit.
A 30-year-old was allegedly seen on camera damaging newly upgraded cables that link servers and feeds to the city's CCTV cameras.

His arrest comes after eThekwini's surveillance system went down just after repairs were conducted.
The city's Vincent Ngubane says they conducted a thorough investigation, which led them to believe someone might be tampering with the system.
"The next part was to check on our internal equipment. Our team established that a whole lot of servers were cut."
