eThekwini disconnects illegally connected electricity
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
An eThekwini Municipality technician says residents at Mona in Tongaat will have reconnected electricity illegally in a month.
The city went on a mission to cut off illegal connections in the area this morning.
The technician who does not want to be named says this is the third disconnection operation at the informal settlement.
"People sometimes get hostile when we are coming to remove these illegal connections. This is why you see so much security personnel being present.
"So, I always have to ensure the safety of our employees and then our operations always run smooth," he said.
