The eThekwini Municipality has warned business owners to be cautious of an emerging scam in the city.

It's received reports that individuals posing as the city’s health inspectors have been doing the rounds and demanding money from businesses.
Spokesperson Gugu Sisilana says the city's Environmental Health Practitioners do not administer on-the-spot fines to businesses.
Sisilana says if you are approached, you need to check the inspector’s badge immediately.
