eThekwini aims for R3-billion international cash injection

eThekwini believes a new approach to attract international investment could see the City receiving a cash boost of more than R3-billion over the next few years.
Head of Durban Tourism, Philip Sithole has been speaking after the launch of the municipality's new strategy to promote the region internationally.

The strategy is called, 'Invest Durban'.
Sithole says the key development areas identified include eThekwini's tourism, manufacturing and trade and services sectors.
"The outlook in terms of job creation, at least in three years if we could get more foreign direct investment, we looking at 40,000 more jobs. We are not ignoring the fact that Durban, KwaZulu-Natal is one of the manufacturing hubs and tourism destinations in South Africa," he said.
