Num's Khangela Baloyi says with the national grid under pressure - a work stoppage is the last thing the country needs.
Unions are demanding a pay rise of between 9,5% and 15%. Eskom offering 1,5%. Baloyi says they also want to address racial wage gap claims.
"In Eskom, we have a situation whereby white people are still earning more money than black males even when they are doing the same jobs. We are also demanding that maternity leave must be increased from five months that we have now to six months."
