Eskom suspends power cuts until 5pm on Sunday
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
Eskom has announced that it will suspend load shedding for nine hours on Sunday.
The break in power cuts come as the power utility has made a sufficient recovery in generating capacity.
Load shedding will however continue at 5pm on Sunday, with the stage to be confirmed.
"Load shedding was cancelled at 08:00 this morning, owing to sufficient recovery in generating capacity and pumped storage dam levels," says Eskom spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha.
"Load shedding will be reinstated at 17:00 and the stage will be confirmed during the afternoon."
