Eskom implements Stage 1 load shedding
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Eskom has this afternoon implemented Stage 1 rotational load shedding - which is expected to continue until 10pm today.
The power utility has issued a statement - saying this is to preserve emergency resources.
During a briefing this week, the utility's CEO Phakamani Hadebe said their power stations were currently operating on reserves of coal.
Residents and businesses are being asked to use electricity sparingly and to switch off non-essential appliances.
