Eskom escalates load shedding

The country has been hit by stage 4 of the power cuts until further notice.

Eskom made the announcement in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
"Due to insufficient emergency reserves and generation capacity as a result of four units not returning to service as planned, stage 4 load shedding was implemented this morning at 02:31 until further notice,” said the utility’s Daphne Mokwena.

"Eskom will monitor the system and communicate should any significant changes occur."
On Tuesday, the power utility activated stage 2 and stage 3 load shedding.
It was because two generating units shut down.
