Environmentalists waiting for seismic survey ruling
Updated | By Xolani Khumalo
Environmentalists are waiting in anticipation for a Makhanda
High Court ruling on Shell and Impact Africa's attempts to carry out seismic
survey along the Eastern Cape’s Wild Coast.
Judgment in the case was reserved in the Gqeberha High Court.
In December last year, the Makhanda High Court temporarily interdicted Shell from continuing its oil and gas project pending this week's hearing.
Sustaining the Wild Coast's Sinegugu Zukulu says they still have several concerns.

"Having been to court, one issue very concerning to me is to see how insignificant is the voice of our community to both Shell and government. You would expect the government who is elected by the people would take seriously what they are saying."
