Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Electricity Minister Kgosientso Ramokgopa says an end to the country's load-shedding woes is in sight.

"It is a significant progress. It starts with small steps before we get to 365 days of no load shedding there must be one day."
He was speaking at the second South Africa Green Hydrogen Summit in Cape Town on Monday.

The two-day summit plans to build on the solid green hydrogen policy pronounced last year.
Ramokgopa says they are also working on making the cost of energy more affordable for disadvantaged communities.
"There will be significant achievements in relation to costs, and that talks to energy poverty. In many parts of the world, they have different problems while the energy is available in abundance, they are able to generate more than what the demand is, but that energy is not affordable."
