Emergency landing at Bloemfontein airport

The Airports Company of South Africa says a plane was forced to land at Bram Fischer International Airport in Bloemfontein yesterday afternoon due to a technical problem.

Spokesperson Colin Naidoo says this happened around 3pm.

"There was an SA Express that was on its way from George to OR Tambo International Airport when it experienced a problem and had to divert to Bram Fischer International Airport," he said.

The aircraft, carrying four crew members and 63 passengers, landed safely.

"It did not disrupt any operations at Bram Fischer. The Civil Aviation Authority will be looking into the matter further," he said.
