Elderly man struck by train in Toti

An 84-year-old man is in a critical condition after he was hit by a train in Warner Beach in Amanzimtoti this morning.

Paramedics say its still not clear why the man was there.
ER24's Annine Siddall says he was found lying next to the train tracks.
"Paramedics arrived on scene and found the man lying next to the train tracks. On assessment, paramedics could see that the man was in a critical condition. They immediately treated him and transported him to a nearby hospital for further medical care," she says.

Siddall says police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
