Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
An elderly man has been left fighting for his life after being shot at close range in what is - at this stage - thought to have been a road rage incident.

The shooting took place on Otto Volek Road, near the M19 in Pinetown, this morning.
Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says paramedics are still trying to stabilise the man at the scene.
"An elderly man believed to be in his 70s sustained critical gunshot wounds after he got into an altercation. Advance life support paramedics are working to stabilise the man on the scene. He will be transported to a nearby hospital for the further care that he requires.
All necessary roleplayers were on scene. Further investigations will be conducted," Jamieson said.
