Elderly man shot execution style in Greytown

KZN police are still searching for a third suspect on the run, who was allegedly involved in the murder of an elderly man in Greytown this week.
67-year-old Mqondeni Zondi had been driving in Ntembisweni in the Midlands on Monday when he was cut off by three gunmen. He was then allegedly dragged out of his car and shot in the head before his car was set alight.
Police managed to arrest a 30 year old man on the same day, who was allegedly found in possession of the getaway car, firearm and ammunition. This led them to the arrest of the second 28-year-old suspect in Kranskop.
Spokesperson Thulani Zwane has more says..
"The two suspects face charges of murder malicious damage to property as well as of the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition", he said.
"The third suspect is still at large but once he has been arrested he will face similar charges as well", Zwane said.
Zondi's body was later found by a local farmer. The motive for the murder is not clear at this stage.
