Elderly man shot dead in Stanger hijacking attempt

KZN police are investigating the murder of a 60-year-old man who was shot in what’s thought to have been a botched hijacking.

His body was found in his vehicle in Stanger yesterday.
The police’s Thembela Mbele says he was still sitting behind the wheel.
"A 60-year-old man was shot and killed while he was driving a company car along the R74 in Stanger. The police were alerted by a driver who was driving by and saw the vehicle."
Mbhele says a case of murder has been opened at the KwaDukuza police station for further investigation.
