An elderly man has drowned at the Durban beachfront after falling off a pier.
Netcare 911's Chris Botha says it is suspected that the 65-year-old had a seizure while walking along the Snake Park pier.
He says when lifeguards reached the man he had stopped breathing.

"They pulled him to the side and started CPR. Paramedics arrived there and resuscitation was ceased.
"Paramedics examined the man and found him to have died tragically due to him being in the water for a considerable time. The body was handed to the SAPS and they're doing an investigation," he said.
