Elderly Durban North woman strangled to death, found with hands and feet bound

Police are investigating the death of an elderly woman whose body was found in her Durban North home on Thursday night.
Netcare 911 responded to the scene.
Spokesperson Shawn Herbst says the woman believed to be in her 70s.
He says she was found unresponsive with her hands and feet tied and lying outside a granny flat on the property.
"When medics arrived on scene they found the elderly lady aged approximately 70-years-old bound by her hands and feet on the floor.
"The patient was assessed, however showed no signs of life and was sadly declared deceased by a Netcare 911 advanced life support practitioner.”
Police confirmed that she was also strangled.
She was declared dead on scene.
The motive for the attack is still unknown.
