Elderly couple's home set alight in Reservoir Hills

An elderly Reservoir Hills couple's relieved that they were unharmed when their home was set on fire last night.
The pair was woken up by a loud bang.
Police spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says they noticed smoke coming from one of the rooms of their home.
Zwane says the couple managed to put out the fire.
"We have opened a case of malicious damage to property at the Sydenham police station. The circumstances surrounding this matter are not known at this stage. The matter is still under investigation. Allegations will be forming part of our investigation," Zwane said.

Zwane says investigations continue into whether a petrol bomb was used.
