More than a dozen people have been taken to various Durban hospitals for treatment following a crash between a car and a minibus taxi in Shallcross.

Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says the two vehicles collided partially head-on on Hans Detman Highway earlier this afternoon.
Paramedics found 18 people from both the taxi and the car who had sustained various injures, and some very serious injuries, lying on the roadside. More ambulances, as well as advanced life-support paramedics were dispatched to the scene to help treat the multiple injured patients," he said.
One of the taxi passengers has told local newspaper, the Rising Sun Chatsworth that the driver of the car lost control and crashed into the taxi.
Police are investigating.
