Efforts underway to repatriate Lindani Myeni's body

Efforts are underway to bring home the body of slain KZN father, Lindani Myeni, from the US.
Provincial government delegates and officials from Umhlathuze visited the 29-year-old's family in eSikhaleni on Wenesday.
They'll be assisting them with repatriation efforts. The father-of-two was killed by police in Hawaii a week ago.
According to media reports, they were responding to a burglary in Honolulu, when he was shot.
Myeni's grandmother Beatrice Nhleko says they want him home.

"We have a legal representative there , who is liaising with the American government. At this stage, we are not aware of what Lindani is accused off and the version of events change every time officials call us.
"We are waiting for the government to release Lindani's body, which is currently in the state mortuary."
uMhlathuze Mayor Mdu Mhlongo says Myeni was an inspiration to the township's youth.
"One of their own had succeeded in a very tough and competitive environment in the USA. The violent nature in which he passed on surely must arouse amongst us those feelings and emotions of sadness. "
