EFF says parliament suspension ‘calculated moved’
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The EFF has dismissed as a calculated political move the Western Cape High Court's decision to strike off the roll of its application to lift disciplinary sanctions on six of its MPs.

The EFF members, including party leader Julius Malema, were found in contempt of Parliament after the group disrupted last year's State of the Nation Address.
At one point, they stormed the stage where the president was sitting, prompting their removal from the house.

The six MPs suspensions will kick in tomorrow, meaning they will this year's SONA next month.
In a statement, EFF says the timing of the suspensions is an attempt to ensure that President Cyril Ramaphosa delivers what it believes will be his last SONA without facing scrutiny.
It says despite the suspensions, all EFF members who will attend the opening of Parliament will continue to hold Ramaphosa accountable over the Phala Phala scandal, among other things.
