EFF plans to take student activist's case to ConCourt
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
EFF leader Julius Malema says they'll be taking Bonginkosi Khanyile's case to the Constitutional Court.
Lawyers for the Fees Must Fall leader have been trying to launch a successful application to overturn a magistrate's court ruling - denying him bail. Khanyile's case was postponed in the Durban Magistrate's Court to February 25.
The DUT student, who's been kept behind bars at Westville Prison for around four months, faces eight charges ranging from being in possession of a weapon, to inciting violence.
Malema says they took the decision to spearhead Khanyile's case after the Supreme Court mentioned it would not take on the matter as it was not exceptional.
