EFF lays ‘mass murder’ complaint against mayor over Hammanskraal water crisis

The EFF in Tshwane have laid a criminal complaint against the Tshwane municipality over the cholera outbreak that’s claimed 20 lives.
EFF regional chairperson Obakeng Ramabodu was joined by a small group of picketing supporters, clad in party regalia, at the Temba police station on Thursday.
Ramabodu said Mayor Cilliers Brink and the city manager and the metro should be held liable for failing to address the decade-long Hammanskraal water crisis.
“We’ve opened a case of murder against the Democratic Alliance, Tshwane municipality, Cilliers Brink and the City Manager Johan Meddler because we are of the view that as the ones who are leading the City of Tshwane it was their responsibility to give the people of Hammanskraal clean water."
Ramabodu and community leader, Advocate MoAfrika waMaila, discouraged frustrated residents from staging a shutdown after a poster calling for the blockade of main routes in the area made the rounds.

“Once we shut down we are doing to escalate the death rate. People who rely on Jubilee Hospital which the nurses, the doctors must get to, and the ambulances my drive and pick up people who are sick in their homes,” WaMaila said.
He said they were mobilising affected families to launch a class action law suit against government.
