EFF lacks capacity to deliver on promises: Analyst

Political analyst Thabani Khumalo says he does not think the Economic Freedom Fighters have the capacity to deoliver on the services they are promising in their election manifesto.

The party launched the manifesto in Soweto yesterday with EFF leader, Julius Malema, addressing a packed Orlando Stadium.

Khumalo says that the difference between the EFF and other parties is that the EFF seems to know the problems facing citizens better. He says the party is good at communicating with those on the ground.

"I do not think they have done a lot in terms of delivering to people on the promises they made such as on matters of land reforms and nationalisation," he said.

"However what has made them superstars in Parliament are the mistakes of the ANC such as Nkandla," Khumalo said.

Addressing a packed Orlando Stadium that was a sea of red, Malema said the issue of land is non-negotiable.

"Land must not only be available to white minority, it must be available to all, including the white minority. We are not chasing whites away - we are saying you have too much land - bring 80% of it back to us," he said.

"We will show you how land can be used. Do not go away. We want you here in South Africa, we will learn from you and you will learn from us," Malema said.

Malema has also warned businesses, saying their operations will have to benefit communities.

"All those businesses that did not respond to our memorandum we are warning you. We are going to unleash the masses to you and no one can stop the power of the masses," he said.

"Anyone who wants to do business under EFF government or EFF municipalities must give 40% to the local people," Malema said.
