The party addressed students ahead of today's SRC elections at the Mangosuthu University of Technology in Umlazi yesterday.

EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu was also present. The party's KZN chairperson Vukani Ndlovu says the party will be make an impact on student politics.

"We are confident about student politics. We know our story and we are going to show them that this institution is going to belong to the EFF student command," he said.

Meanwhile, the DA's Zwakele Mncwango believes previously black dominated institutions are seeing that it's not a whites only party.

"We've seen the change in student organisations and the movement. We've seen other provinces where DASO is taking over universities and we believe it's been long overdue in KZN," he said.

The ANC is also confident its SASCO affiliated representatives will perform well in the election.
