EFF demands probe into King Misuzulu certificate handover event
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in KwaZulu-Natal wants a probe into the organisation of this past weekend's certificate handover ceremony of Zulu king Misuzulu.

Thousands of people, including local and international guests, descended on Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday to celebrate and honour the Zulu monarch.
But the EFF says aspects of the event took away from the prestige of the occasion.
There have been some complaints ranging from security and access control and failing sound and visual.
EFF KZN Chairperson, Mongezi Twala, says they have written to the Office of the Premier to get answers.
"I can definitely assure you that those people misused the public funds. That stage was not of a high calibre for that ceremony. We are asking for an investigation. The service providers that were providing services…how much were they paid?. It was not up to standard."

He says they also don't understand why the event was based on rituals of the Anglican Church.
"The King must be very careful about which people are surrounding him because they will get him to do things that are not of our culture as Zulu people. So he mustn't just allow people to toss him around and do whatever they instruct him to do."
Despite the international delegation that attended the ceremony, including various African kings and queens, some were also unhappy that King Misuzulu gave his address in English and not isiZulu.
