Edward Zuma given deadline to retract comments
Updated | By Puseletso Petersen
Human Rights investigators are still considering what action to take against President Jacob Zuma's son, Edward.
He penned an open letter recently labelling some senior ANC members, including Pravin Gordhan, as sellouts.
The Commission's Gurshwell Brookes says they're considering the options available to them.
"Three options at our availability are either subpoening for a hearing at the Commission, alternatively requesting Mr. Zuma to retract his statement and apologise or taking him to the Equality Court," he says.
In the letter, Zuma accuses Gordhan and Derek Hanekom of protecting white monopoly capital.

Zuma has told Newswatch that he stands by the contents of the letter.
Mdumiseni Ntuli, spokesperson for the ANC in KZN, says they've given Zuma until midnight to retract his comments.
"If he doesn't retract the statement, the provincial executive committee will sit over the weekend and receive a report on his conduct. It takes the final decision on matters to be referred to the disciplinary committee," he says.
