Education gets biggest slice of provincial budget, reveals Finance MEC

KZN's departments of Education, Health and Transport have received the lion's share of the 2021/22 provincial budget.

Education has been allocated R53.2 billion - while Health gets R48.4 billion - with the two accounting for 76% of the total budget.
Finance MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube's says R11.6 billion has been set aside for Transport.
"The department of human settlements received R3.6 billion, Social Development, R3.7 billion.
"Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs received R3.3 billion, Department of Arts and Culture received R2.5 billion."

She's told a Legislature sitting that there's a plan to revive the province's economy.
"In drafting this budget we believe that we will quickly turn around the situation by enhancing the industrial development through investment and into the key productive sectors of the economy.
"These include various industry development such as the formal and township economy, digital, agricultural, oceans economy, clothing and textile."
The 2nd largest portion of #KZNBudget goes to @kznhealth at 36.2%, a budget of R48.4b in 2021/22.
