Education Dept receives Wentworth SGB appeal
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The lock-out at Assegai Primary School in Wentworth has continued today.
The school, with about 1200 pupils, has been locked by parents who are upset over the appointment of the school's principal.
The governing body's Andre de Bruin says they want the KZN Education Department to confirm in writing that it will investigate the appointment.

He says the department has acknowledged their appeal.
"We hope that by the end of today there will be a favourable [outcome] and that the school will resume on Monday. The appeal is one part that we are happy with. We are just waiting for other developments and we hope by the grace of God that it will materialise before sunset today. If they don't, the dynamics can change and the kids can go back to school on Monday," he says.
KZN Education says its priority is the resumption of teaching and learning at the school.
