Education activist urges Nzimande, UNISA to sort out differences
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Education activist Hendrick Makaneta is pleading with Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande and the University of South Africa to sort out their differences.
Nearly 3 months ago, Nzimanda announced his intentions to place the university under full administration after the ministerial task team and independent assessor report.
It found various issues, including the abuse of funds.

Last week, Nzimande then announced Professor Ihron Rensburg as administrator to manage the university for the next two years.
UNISA then filed for an urgent application to the High Court in Pretoria.
The court ordered Nzimande to reverse his decision with immediate effect yesterday.
Activist Makanela says both the institution and the minister should break the ice.
"The battle between the University of South Africa and the Higher Education Minister requires urgent mediation, and it should be clear at this point that the ruling by the high court presents a fresh opportunity for the council and the minister to go back to the drawing board, through mediation.
"The terrain of Higher Education, in general, requires stability to function optimally."
