Economist says Sept fuel prices may remain unchanged

Based on economists' outlook, motorists could expect some relief at the pumps next month.
That's according to economist Graeme Kerner - who says mid-month data doesn't point to any significant price adjustment.
He says what's likely to tip the scales though is the international oil price which is currently at around 70 US dollars per barrel and the very liquid Rand - which is testing the R15 level.

"We're in a very unpredictable world where tensions, for example, between Turkey and the US escalate.
"It's a very difficult call. As it stands right now, I would expect petrol and diesel price to remain largely unchanged," he said.
