Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
eThekwini Municipality has rubbished claims of mass hospitalisations in the city due to E.coli related infections.

A voicenote that has been doing the rounds claims that those who have been admitted became ill after swimming at Ushaka beach.
It further claims that a teenager has been hospitalised after swimming at Ushaka Beach.
In a statement, the city says it's contacted hospitals in the area, including those mentioned in the voicenote.
It says the health facilities have denied the claims.
Officials says the allegations are an attempt at trying to scare the public from visiting the City’s beaches.
It says it's part of a relentless campaign to capitalise on flood damages to redirect visitors away from eThekwini.
