East London kidnapping: nanny denied bail

The Mozambican woman who was arrested by the Hawks last week for kidnapping, was denied bail in the Mdantsane Magistrate's court today.

Sindiswa Ntshukane allegedly kidnapped three-year-old Perfect Gift Msesiwe in August from her home where she was a nanny.
The 32-year-old woman allegedly took the girl to Mozambique and demanded a R500 000 ransom from the girl's family.
A week ago, in a joint operation between the Hawks and the Mozambican police - the nanny was arrested in Gauteng.
She confessed to confessed to committing the offence and clues of the whereabouts for the child surfaced.
The child was formally reunited with her parents last week Thursday at the provincial headquarters in King William's Town.
She has been charged with extortion, for illegally being in the country, kidnapping and human trafficking.
Ntshukane was remanded in custody and she will appear again in court on September 29 for a possible plea or sentence.
