DUT suspends lectures after student protest
Updated | By Chanelle Lutchman
The Durban University of Technology has suspended its academic programme for today.
Spokesperson, Alan Khan says the decision comes after a memorandum was handed over to the Vice-Chancellor yesterday following protests by the SRC.
"So we decided to suspend the academic programme for today only just to create an environment and platform so we can have cordial discussions with the SRC. We will resume the academic programme tomorrow morning," he said.

Khan however says the campus will remain open for students who wish to register today.
Management will meet with DUT's SRC at 1.30pm today to discuss financial aid scheme NSFAS as well as the in-sourcing of cleaning staff and security guards.
