DUT students call for tighter security

Students at the Durban University of Technology are calling for tighter security at the institution.

This after a student was stabbed, assaulted and mugged at the university on Monday.

18-year-old first year industrial engineering student, Sandile Ndlovu is currently on life support.

Students held a protest earlier today. They are demanding that management take immediate action.

The SRC's Sandiso Buthelezi says they want the current security company to be removed immediately.

Buthelezi says they also want better security measures, such as access to campus, as well as a greater police presence.
